Wezesha One-Pager Concept
Introduction on Wezesha
Wezesha means 'to enable' in Swahili. We’re building a Web3 powerhouse ecosystem to enable tech progress, Web3 adoption for innovative startups, while also providing digital native education for students in Africa and beyond. We believe in the power of web3 and the digital economy to create opportunities and unlock potential for individuals and communities around the world.
What motivated us to build this concept?
Our team has experience bringing practice enterprises methodology to Sub-Saharan Africa, nurturing student startups at rural schools, and starting one of the first rural startup hubs in the world back in 2015. Through these projects, we saw the potential for digital technologies to transform vocational education and create new opportunities for young people in remote areas. We were inspired by the vision of digitally native education and crypto-universities, and we wanted to create a platform to enable web3 apprentices anywhere.
Who is Wezesha built for?
Our project is built for students and young entrepreneurs in remote places of Africa and the ascending world in general. We aim to provide vocational education and digital skills training to those who have limited access to traditional educational opportunities. We believe that by providing access to web3 technologies and the digital economy, we can unlock the potential of talented individuals and help to build thriving local communities.
What value does Wezesha community align on?
Our community aligns on the value of education and opportunity. We believe that everyone should have access to high-quality vocational education and the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge that can unlock their potential. We also believe in the power of digital technologies to transform the lives of individuals and communities, and we aim to empower our community with the tools and resources to participate in the web3 economy.
How does web3 help Wezesha to solve the problem?
Our approach for developing Wezesha as a web3 startup society entails leveraging on the blockchain and smart contracts technology to develop a trusted and secure platform for vocational education to students and startups, encompassing functions for onboarding, learning, assessment, and reward distribution. We are developing a user-friendly web-based and mobile application with features such as browsing courses, crypto tasking, tracking progress, and communicating with instructors and peers.
Our decentralized identity system will also allow individuals to control their personal information and access rights, which could involve integration with existing identity solutions like uPort, Sovrin, or Civic.
To incentivize and reward learners and startups, we will incorporate digital passports and tokens, including our own SPL token called WEZ, representing membership in the community and granting access to exclusive features on our DAO.
We aim to expand our platform reach and functionality by integrating with other web3 platforms and protocols, such as decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms for startup funding, or decentralized storage networks like IPFS for educational content storage and distribution.
Our goal is to build a strong and vibrant community, engaging with our users through social media, online forums, and physical meetups, while also promoting peer-to-peer learning and collaboration through discussion groups, hackathons, and mentorship programs.
What is Wezesha’s business model like?
We envision a business model based on a decentralized platform for vocational education to students and startups, powered by web3 technologies. We plan to provide onboarding and brokerage services for students learning companies and startups, and to serve as a central hub for vocational learning purposes. We plan to generate revenue through a fee-based system for accessing our platform, as well as through partnerships and collaborations with educational institutions, corporations and other stakeholders in the web3 economy. Ultimately, we believe that our platform can create value for our community by enabling individuals to unlock their potential and participate in the digital economy.
